Elgin County’s Engineering Department required interior signage and environmental graphics that improved navigation, professionalism, and visual consistency within their workspace. The project aimed to modernize the interior environment while creating a cleaner and more welcoming experience for both staff and visitors.
McBain Signs began by evaluating the physical layout and identifying opportunities where environmental graphics could improve functionality and strengthen the department’s identity. Rather than relying solely on traditional signage, the project focused on integrating branding into the architecture of the space itself. The objective was to create a workplace that felt more organized, contemporary, and visually engaging.
The design system incorporated large-format wall graphics, dimensional signage, and wayfinding elements developed to complement the existing architecture and finishes. Typography, spacing, and material selection were carefully considered to maintain readability while contributing to a polished and professional atmosphere. The graphics also helped reinforce organizational identity without overwhelming the space visually.
Installation required precise coordination to ensure alignment and consistency throughout multiple areas of the building. Once completed, the project significantly improved the overall feel of the environment, creating clearer navigation and a stronger sense of cohesion across the department’s interior spaces. The final result demonstrates how thoughtful environmental graphics can elevate public-sector spaces while improving both functionality and visual experience.
